McDougal GSL "Dinner with Strangers," lets you meet and dine with people from outside your department and friend circle. The event kicks off with a social hour in the McDougal Center Common Room (HGS, 320 York St.) featuring sodas, beer, wine, and light appetizers (6 - 6:45 pm) before we match you up with your group members and send you out to one of the following restaurants: Caseus, Zinc, Barcelona, Roia, Oaxaca and Heirloom.
This event takes place during New Haven Restaurant Week so each restaurant will offer a 3 course meal for $32 (not including tax, tip, or beverages) but you are not obligated to order off the restaurant week menu! See www.infonewhaven.com for the prix fixe menus for participating restaurants.
When you purchase your ticket, please list your top 3 restaurant picks if you have a preference and we will attempt to accommodate the needs and wants of all participants. If you definitely cannot make a particular restaurant due to the time of the reservation (Caseus = 6:30pm, Heirloom = 7:30pm, all others = 7:00pm), please make a note of this. Please do not purchase a ticket unless you are certain that you can attend as the event is rather small and we would like to make sure everyone that is interested & able to attend gets a spot. If you realise in advance that you are not able to attend, please contact the McDougal Center ([email protected]) so that we can offer your spot to someone on the wait list.
